Yucky...you got pretty lucky on the turn though...just unlucky on the river...pretty fucking serious amounts of money though!

I don't hit my card on turn i c/f.

I tank called the shove, pretty sure he didn't have AK. I'd lost a few buy-ins at 600nl not long before this and it just really got to me.

Yeah, brutal 4 outer...it's a pretty gross call by him, too, really...what are you beating? There's numerous ways for someone to have a straight there, you're crushed by any set, possibly only drawing to 2 outs instead of 4 to fill the right way and take it.

So I put in some code on Stars for Mission Week, not really knowing what I was trying to win, but earnt enough FPP's to get a ticket for a $200K GTD All In Shoot out...yep, all in, no poker playing, don't even need to be logged in so long as you're registered, 9 players all in each hand pre flop, winner progresses, $20K for first place

Wonder what the odds are of winning 6+ 9 way all in's in a row?

Just out right shipped a $22 PLO Hi Lo game! Only $350 as only 51 players, but hey, no chop/deal...purely coz the pommy twat didn't know how to, even though he said he wanted to deal, and I was telling him HOW to do it

Suck to him though, he had 3:1 chip lead twice and blew it...YUS!!!

It's micro millions day! Come drive yourself mental with me

1206 of 36848 players in the first one I played...three bet rockets from the SB, fish flats me with KsTs and of course hits a flop with A) a ten and B) 2 spades...chases it for his whole 50BB stack and naturally his 1 in 3 is good this time...when the fuck is my 2/3 ever going to come in spots like that?!?

$18 from $3 entry...as expected, the $60K GTD balloons out to $110K total pool...$11K up top...fuck me these fields are huge!!!

Thanks mate.

I'm going to play fairly tight in the first 1/3 and then open it up in the next 1/3, hopefully I'll build a stack big enough to cruise.

There were quite a few guys hoping for a quick double up last time, I will take more advantage of this.

I played mega tight last time, it was my first $500+ buy in event and didn't want to through it away.

Made it past the big break - JJ shove with 15bbs, small blind flips over KK.

Might go a bit earlier next time and play a handful of satellites.

Went back to check out some action and saw the bubble burst, would suck to have chips in play for a week and then bubble.

Just had a deep run in Sydney Poker Champs opening event. 25th of 875 for $1361.

Could have easily made last 2 tables, but I was playing to win and tangled with the chip leader when I had just under 500k with avg at 300k. If I had have folded would have left me with around 180k. Would have folded , if around 10-15 hands before hadn't lost a 240k pot with my KK<AT all-in pf.

The donkbet is a funny term. It implies you're a donk if you make the play, but there are legit reasons for doing it.

Yeah I'm going to add the donk bet to my game - its very sickening folding to most c-bets when I miss the flop.

I'm going to start donk betting occasionally to steal pots when I'm against weak players

Donk bets are great on the right texture flop/against the right players, otherwise, you're throwing your money away

Not playing much these days, had $800 on Stars leading up to December...withdrew $500 for Xmas/NYE monies, then just got doomswitched on the rest...can't bring myself to deposit on the crackwhore of a site at the mo...just playing FPP Sats if the mood so takes me...unreg and take the Tournament Dollars

No, worked in my favour $500USD withdrawn with current exchange conversion rate, got like $580 at the time I think...can't see how they could screw you there, you buy in in USD, you withdraw in USD, banks make the conversion when it hits your account/you bank the cheque, not Pokerstars

I'm not talking about the standard exchange rate conversion. I thought Stars started charging new FX fees on both deposits and withdrawals.

Oh, don't know, perhaps they did...last deposit was 6+ months so I have no idea really.

I know my credit card started treating gambling site deposits as cash withdrawals, the scammy fuckers, so I got slugged a $4 fee for a "withdrawal" in USD plus start charging interest immediately! :notimpressed:

Wow that is brutal. I don't play Omaha but don't they say small pairs are overvalued because of set over set situations which happen a lot more often then in Hold'em?

Yeah, you get set over set a lot more often, but still doesn't really come up all that much...you're more likely to lose with you middle/bottom set being drawn out on by a wrap straight + combo flush draw.

Fucking love Omaha, find it hard to actually play Hold 'Em now...I find the post flop decisions are just so much easier, your Ace high, top pair top kicker, 1 over pair is basically never ever good (or might be on the flop, but chances of it holding to the river are so damn slim). But usually you've either flopped set/straight/top 2 and you're good to just check/call it Flop assessing what the Turn brings, or you flop these crazy as fuck draws for the nuts and you're fine with raise/calling it all off...or you just flop complete and utter mud and it's a piss easy check fold.

You can totally cop some brutal beats/cold deck stuff, but I don't feel the variance is any better/worse than hold 'em, but perhaps I just suck at hold 'em now as it's so much hard to hit a flop/tell exactly where you are.

I think my coolest ever hand was holding 10 10 8 7 flopping 10 9 6 for flopped nut straight, top set and was backed up with a flush draw, too...MONSTER! haha

I see what you mean I am defo degen enough to be playing PLO don't know why I've never played. I'd have to think the variance would be much higher, though, as you're playing for stacks rarely as a big favourite, which makes it swingy as fuck.

Somewhat, yeah, often though your hand is strong enough/draw strong enough that there is actually little value in raising, there's so few hands that will call you...and like you say, the ones which will call you are going to be in that same slim holding margin as you. You see a lot more limping pre and a lot more checking/check-calling post in Omaha than current day hold 'em (maybe I'm perceiving that wrong, but feels that way to me)

My only real advice would be tight as fuck pre flop...tight tight tight! 4 cards all suited up/connecting nicely, no KQT2 with 3 suits or 3 of 1 suit etc even if to a min raise in the BB (later stages anyway, early when blinds are low compared to chip stacks, sure, but the danglers will screw you more often than they'll save you by giving you 2 pair)...chips saved speculating with average hands are huge, better spent on premium hands with position.

Aces are garbage unless they're double suited and/or you're short and able to 3 bet a huge portion of your stack in pre flop and isolate someone to heads up. 80% of the time you're check folding them on the flop if it's gone multi-way unless it was AdQdAsTs and you pick up straight/flush draws to go along with a basic overpair (or hit the top set, obviously).

Find Omaha cash waaaaaay more high variance/swingy than MTTs...most MTT people know enough to play half pie well/not gamble there whole stack off on a 50/60% flips...I was rocking 32% In The Money in MTTs for a while there, my downfall was tilting it off in cash

Yeah if you don't deposit in 1 of the 4 cashier currencies, it's now 2.5%. Deposits used to be about 0.5% and I think withdrawals were 1%.

And yeah Kiwi, 2 of my credit cards now treat it as cash. Only one doesn't but it still applies an overseas transaction fee. My st george used to have no transcation fee and was a purchase. Also, Kiwi on stars I always bought with AUD and the conversion was done by stars not my bank. Were you getting raped on exchange fees by your bank all this time?

I'm not sure now but they used to use the reuters mid-market rate(or something like that) and it was set for the day at about 9am aussie east coast time. I remember depositing 2k to withdraw in 2 days and make money after the exchange rate plummeted something like 3 or 5 % after it was set.

Naaah, always just bought as X price in AUD...with 28 degrees, so they don't charge international currency conversion fees anyway, but recently started charging fees for cash transactions and now treat this as such...pretty rank
